Projects

Over the past 23 years we have had a close link with Pearson Street United Congregational Church in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

Through this we have been jointly involved in supporting initiatives to meet local needs.

Our new project for 2020 is at a home which houses about 65 seniors living on a low state pension.

Meals are only provided on Sunday to Friday.
Members of Pearson Street plan to shop for, prepare and serve a meal once a month on a Saturday.

Initially we are providing £1200 to help fund the project for a year. CAs of our last church meeting we now have a joint outreach project.  Cuyler Home is situated just around the corner from Pearson Street.  It houses around 65 seniors, living on a very low state pension.  Meals are provided from Sunday to Friday but no meals are provided on a Saturday.  Members of Pearson Street propose to shop for, prepare and serve a meal at Cuyler Home one Saturday each month.  The estimated cost for this is £65- £85 per month.  At the church meeting it was agreed that we would support this project by sending £1,200 (£100 per month), this to be reviewed after a year.   ml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
