   About Us

We are a friendly church.  We like singing hymns and Bible based teaching.

Morning worship starts at 11:00. It  lasts for an hour and includes hymns, segments for prayers and bible readings, family time and church family news, after which Junior Church leave for their own learning time. The adults continue their worship with hymns, prayer and bible readings and a sermon is delivered.

After the service we get together for about 30 minutes in the  main hall for tea or coffee and further fellowship.

The evening service starts at 6:15 and lasts 45 minutes.

We are part of the West Cumbria Network of URC churches with Workington,  Harrington, Cockermouth and Silloth. It is served by two Ministers one based in Whitehaven and one in Workington.

Cumbria is the first Ecumenical County in England. The United Reformed Church, Methodist, Salvation Army  and Anglican churches are partner denominations to a Declaration of Intent aimed at working more closely together in mission. This is supported by four companion denominations; Roman Catholic, Baptist, Quaker and Church of Scotland.
